A blog dedicated to mindful living and to growing, blooming, and flourishing as individuals in connection to ourselves and others

Who I Am

“We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” ~T.S. Eliot

My name is Angela Lehr and I am on a journey of owning my own story and sharing my truths as a woman and individual who values connection, authenticity, and the beautiful and tender process of being and healing in the world. I am a mother, spouse, counselor, educator, companion in friendship, feeler, thinker and writer. Professionally, personally, and academically, my first passion was poetry and literary arts and my second is Psychology; this blog is the marriage of both and a rekindling of my relationship with writing creatively.

For the past 20 years, I have worked with survivors of grief and trauma and have accompanied many on their journeys of healing, of creating safety and of self-discovery. What I love about writing and the literary world is also what I love about psychology, education and being a therapist. It is an honor to be a part of another’s inner world, to accompany another through times of challenge, to bear witness to the transformations that are possible and to articulate a personal story from a place of honesty and care.

I’ve recently relocated from Portland, Oregon to a small town in Montana and have paused my counseling practice while I get settled and establish my counseling license in this new state. This time of transition feels like the time for me to sit with my personal story while merging my writing practice with my respect for and commitment to supporting the transformative and healing process of others. I am grateful for the freedom and inspiration to take this leap and to share my words, my experience, and my Self with other fellow travelers on the path of personal growth!
